As part of its commitment to education and societal advancement in Ebonyi State, the Gideon and Joy Life Leadership Foundation has initiated a N100 million scholarship programme in the state.
This initiative, spearheaded by renowned medical practitioner, Dr Gideon Osi, is poised to catalyse the dreams of 105 exceptional students from both secondary schools and tertiary institutions across the state.
At the event which held at Dr Osi’s country home in Amaeze-Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru, was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Grace Umezurike.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr Osi said: “I am a product of scholarship, and I have extended the same opportunity to students and undergraduates. I firmly believe that one of the most potent ways to empower society is through educational enrichment.
“Education, for every community, society, and nation, is akin to oxygen for the human body. By educating our people, we are actively mitigating poverty and insecurity. Our scholarship program is our collective contribution to society.”
Dr Osi extended heartfelt reassurance to the recipients, affirming the secure management of their scholarship funds, and he reiterated his unwavering commitment to expanding the programme’s reach to impact even more lives in the foreseeable future.
Chairman of the occasion, Senator Michael Ama Nnachi, emphasised the significance of scholarship programmes amidst prevailing economic challenges.
He also lauded Dr Osi’s philanthropic spirit and called upon others to embrace him by investing in the betterment of society.
